End User License Agreement
Please read this End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) carefully before installing or using TASS. By installing, activating, or using TASS, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.
1. Parties
This Agreement is between you (“User”) and SIM DAD LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of Illinois (“SIM DAD,” “we,” or “us”). SIM DAD LLC is the sole developer and owner of TASS.
2. License Grant
Subject to your payment of the applicable license fee and compliance with this Agreement, SIM DAD grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to install and use TASS on the number of devices corresponding to your license tier, solely for your own personal or internal business purposes:
- Academic — up to 2 devices
- Professional — up to 2 devices
- Lab — up to 10 devices within the same organization
- Department — up to 50 devices within the same organization
3. Activation
TASS uses a license key system administered by Gumroad on behalf of SIM DAD LLC. You must activate your license key to use the software. Your license key may be used on the number of devices specified by your tier. Attempting to exceed this limit, share your key outside your organization, or circumvent the activation system is a material breach of this Agreement.
An internet connection is required for initial activation and periodic re-validation. After activation, TASS operates entirely on your local machine and does not require a persistent internet connection.
4. Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, redistribute, sublicense, sell, rent, lease, or transfer TASS or your license key to any third party outside your licensed organization
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of TASS, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on TASS
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices in TASS
- Use TASS to develop a competing product or service
- Use TASS in any manner that violates applicable law
5. Ownership
TASS and all copies thereof are proprietary to SIM DAD LLC and title thereto remains with SIM DAD LLC. All rights in TASS not specifically granted in this Agreement are reserved to SIM DAD LLC. This Agreement does not transfer any ownership interest in TASS to you.
6. Updates
Your license entitles you to all updates within the v1.x release series at no additional charge. SIM DAD LLC is under no obligation to release updates or to maintain compatibility with any particular operating system version. Major version upgrades (e.g., v2.0) may be offered at a separate price.
7. Privacy and Data
TASS runs entirely on your local machine. SIM DAD LLC does not collect, transmit, or store any of your text data, analysis results, or usage data. The only information transmitted to SIM DAD LLC’s systems is your license key activation request, which includes your email address and a device identifier for the purpose of enforcing the activation limit.
8. Open Source Components
TASS is built in part on open source software. The following components are included under their respective licenses, which are unaffected by this Agreement:

PySide6 Qt library files are distributed as separate files in the TASS installation directory (not bundled into a single executable). In accordance with the LGPL-3.0 license, you may replace these library files with modified versions. Source code for Qt is available at qt.io.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
TASS IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SIM DAD LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SIM DAD LLC DOES NOT WARRANT THAT TASS WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF SECURITY VULNERABILITIES.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SIM DAD LLC BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE TASS, EVEN IF SIM DAD LLC HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. SIM DAD LLC’S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THIS AGREEMENT SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR TASS.
11. Refunds
TASS is sold with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are unsatisfied for any reason, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your original purchase date by contacting SIM DAD LLC or initiating a refund through the payment platform. Upon refund, your license key will be deactivated and you must destroy all copies of TASS in your possession. No refunds will be issued after the 30-day period.
12. Term and Termination
This Agreement is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you fail to comply with any term of this Agreement. Upon termination, you must destroy all copies of TASS in your possession. SIM DAD LLC may also terminate this Agreement if TASS is discontinued, provided that no refund obligation arises from discontinuation alone after 12 months from your purchase date. Sections 5, 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.
13. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall be resolved in the courts of Illinois.
14. Entire Agreement
This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and SIM DAD LLC with respect to TASS and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous understandings, communications, or agreements. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force.
